Prof Dr Joel Stiebale, Professor of Empirical Industrial Economics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, has been appointed as a new member of the Economic Advisory Group on Competition Policy (EAGCP) of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Competition (DG Comp). In this role, he will advise the Commission on competition policy issues.
The advisory group comprises a total of 15 economists with recognised reputation from various research areas and academic institutions throughout Europe. The EAGCP creates a forum for exchange between leading academics in the field of competition research.
Prof Stiebale has been researching and teaching at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) for over 10 years. His research focusses on empirical industrial economics, international trade and multinational companies as well as innovation economics.
