Paper zur Markttransparenz auf Kraftstoffmärkten ausgezeichnet.
Simon Martin receives the CRESSE-CPI Award

he paper "Market Transparency and Consumer Search - Evidence from the German Retail Gasoline Market" by Simon Martin, PhD, has been awarded the CRESSE CPI Award. The post-doc at DICE focuses his article on the regulation of market transparency in fuel markets. In both Austria and Germany, gas stations are required by law to report prices to central databases in a timely manner, but in Austria only the cheapest prices are available for consumers to view via app or website. As a result, Martin shows that a corresponding adjustment in Germany would lead to a reduction in fuel prices of about 1.5%.
The CRESSE CPI Award honors papers by young researchers whose doctorates date back no more than ten years.
