Prof. Dr. Katharina Erhardt has been voted into Capital magazine's Top 40 Under 40 ranking – a fantastic achievement!

Katharina Erhardt joined DICE in 2021 and is a professor of economic policy, specializing in trade and competition policy. Her research lies at the intersection of international trade and economic geography. She examines how global economic integration affects companies and industries, with a particular focus on the role of trade and industrial policy in production structures, specialization patterns, and the integration of companies into international value chains. In addition, she analyzes the distributional effects of globalization on companies, regions, and labor markets. She regularly publishes her research findings in renowned journals and, since this year, has also headed the Industrial Policy Lab at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

Top40 under 40 is an annual ranking of young talent published by the German business magazine Capital. Since 2007, it has honored 40 personalities under the age of 40 from the fields of business, politics, administration, science, and society who are considered particularly influential or forward-looking.
