Location and how to get there

You will find the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) on the campus (HHU campus map) of the Heinrich-Heine-University (HHU) in the south of Düsseldorf, only around 3.5 km from the city centre and the main station. The DICE is based on the first floor of the oeconomicum (building 24.31) which faces the University and State Library.

Arriving by public transport:

The oeconomicum is located in the west of the HHU campus and is easily accessed by public transport. You can plan your arrival here.

Arriving by plane: Düsseldorf Rhine-Ruhr airport is one of the biggest in Europe. There is a good connection to the main station by city train (S11) and from there to the university by tram (line U79 to the final stop “Uni-Ost / Botanischer Garten”= University east / botanical garden). Line U73 also has its final stop here. It is only a short, signposted walk from the train station to the oeconomicum.

For direct arrival we recommend taking the city train (S11) to the station "Bilk S" and from there the bus (M3, 835) to the station "Universität Mitte" (= university centre).

Arriving by train: Düsseldorf main station is connected to all international long-distance train routes. From there you travel by tram (U79) directly to the university (final stop "Uni-Ost / Botanischer Garten" = University east / botanical garden).

Arriving by bus: We recommend travelling to the bus stop "Universität Mitte" (= university centre) which is located right next to the oeconomicum. The bus lines SB56, SB57, 731, 735, 827, 835, 836, NE7 and M3 head for this stop. The express bus SB56 travels directly between the station "S-Bahnhof Bilk" (= train station Bilk) and the university in 10-minute intervals.

Arriving by car:

From the East
The university is best reached from Hildener Kreuz (Hilden junction) (A 3 / A 46) via Düsseldorf-Süd junction (Düsseldorf south) (A 46). Leave the A 46 in the tunnel (exit Zentrum / Universität = centre / university). Turn left at the first traffic light into Universitätsstrasse which runs through the campus.

From the West
The university is best reached from Neuss-Süd junction where the A 46 and A 57 merge. After the Fleher Rhine bridge take the exit Bilk / Zentrum / Hafen / Benrath (Bilk / centre / harbour / Benrath). Stay in the right-hand lane and follow the signs to Benrath / Universität (Benrath / university).

From the city centre
The university is best reached via Corneliusstraße, then Witzelstraße (follow the signs for the A46 and Wuppertal), and then turn right into Universitätsstrasse.

For parking lots follow the Universitätsstrasse until you can enter the underground car park (P3) which is located directly underneath the oeconomicum where you can park for free. Please note that all parking offenders on university premises will be towed away.
