Competition and Quality in Long-Term Care (BMBF)
- Project Period: 05/2012 - 09/2016
- Funding: BMBF - Teilprojekt des gesundheitsökonomischen Zentrums an der Universität Duisburg-Essen CINCH
Summary
This project analyzes competition and quality in the German health care system, especially in long-term care. This segment has received little attention from health economics researchers so far, despite the importance it is imparted by an ageing population. Research here focuses on issues regarding the quality level and the price elasticity of the demand for inpatient long-term care, as well as the effect of different ownership structures for the price of long-term care.
