Kurzbeschreibung des Projektes
The aim of this project is to analyze competition in the German pharmaceutical market with the focus on european regulation and market integration, innovation, and challenges due to demographic changes. The empirical part of the study investigates policy changes of health care regulators and provides policy advise to improve the provision of pharmaceutical care. The authors focus on the European-wide regulation of pharmaceutical markets and its economic consequences for German patients and health insurances; especially on the competitive impact of parallel imports.
