Joel Stiebale has been appointed to the Academic Panel by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). The CMA has the task of promoting and maintaining the competitiveness of markets by taking action against unfair behaviour. The Academic Panel plays an important role in shaping research strategy and providing policy advice. Joel Stiebale will actively participate in discussions and decisions in the following priority areas:

• Evaluating competition policy
• Innovation, investment, and productivity
• Understanding markets and market power in the aggregate
• Supply chains, monopsony, and labour markets

Membership begins on 1 January 24 and ends automatically after two years.
