For her Bachelor's thesis on "The Development of Media Quality in the Digital Age", Sahra Barhoumi is awarded the Goldmedia Award for innovative theses in the field of media business. The prize is given annually by the Goldmedia consulting and research group for final theses in the field of media business.
In her thesis, the economics student dealt with the effects of the digital age on the quality of media content in three different media areas (books, music, films and series). The award winner shows that the quality of media content has improved due to digitalisation, as consumers appreciate a high variety of media content and improved signalling reduces the problem of adverse selection, so that high-quality media content remains on the market.
